If you have not heard, BMX racing will make it’s debut in the ‘08 Olympics in Beijing. The competitions will be held on Aug 20 and 21, 2008 at the Laoshan BMX Field.
48 of the world’s best racers, both male and female, will slug their way through several rounds of racing to see who can be the fastest around on the 350 meter (approx 1/4 mile) track and claim a medal on the podium when it’s all done.
We remember many taking up the sport after seeing guys doing jumps on a Kuwahara in the movie E.T. There was a time in the 80’s when every cool kid rode a BMX. Time to put your Vans on those Shimanos again. It is now an official sport…
